The Kavli Foundation convenes the Kavli Institute Directors to foster discussion within and across the fields, stimulate innovative ideas, identify potential impactful research directions, and strengthen our Kavli Institute community. We are excited to share some changes in the Assembly format that we hope will make this an even more enjoyable event.

This year, the Kavli Institute Assembly will take place at the foundation’s headquarters in Los Angeles. The Assembly will have two parts – a “Directors-only session,” as with previous years, and a mini–symposium, to stimulate interactions with selected scientists representing all 20 of the Kavli Institutes. To that end, we cordially invite Kavli Institute Directors to nominate 1-2 Kavli Institute member scientists (e.g., postdoctoral fellow, new faculty) to participate in the mini–symposium on Tuesday, July 16.

July 14 (dinner) and July 15 is for Kavli Institute Directors only. July 16 is a scientific symposium that includes both directors and Kavli Institute members selected by the Kavli Institute Directors. See the agenda-at-a-glance below. For more details, see the full Agenda here.

The Kavli Foundation will cover travel costs and expenses for directors and Kavli Institute scientists. Costs covered include airfare, hotel and all meals associated with the Assembly.
